Ian Karl

Known to his parents-to-be as "Bumper", Ian Karl was born eleven weeks early after his Mom, Barbara developed Preeclampsia. Ian was born on January 22, 2006 and started his life in the new born intensive care unit (NICU) at the local hosptial. Ian Karl's Blog Site follows Ian's journey through his time at the NICU, to his home coming and beyond.

BREAKING NEWS!!

NEWS FLASH - 16.00 hrs

Ian has been given the all clear to leave hospital! As I write this entry, Barbara and I are headed to the hospital where we will stay the night in one of the hotel rooms within the hospital. Ian will stay with us, with medical help only a 'buzzer' away, we will get the chance to see how Ian reacts to being set free from his wires and monitors. Of course we have great expectations for him, so we are very, very hopeful that on Monday we will be bringing Ian home. Stay tuned for the next exciting update, which will hopefully be the news we have all waited for these last 65 days. Yes, he's coming home so stand by to celebrate!!

Stevey boy. This is way fantastic news. I looked at Ian's website earlier tonight and saw that lovely picture with Barbara and Ian. Simply beautiful.

I know that you have Ian earmarked as an athlete but I may be getting him an Arsenal football just so he doesnt forget about footie :)
