Time at the beach!

After several weeks of settling in, working long hours and generally finding our way about our new life, we took a little R&R time and headed to the beach. We went to Hua Hin, a resort town about 2 hours drive from Bangkok and also the home of the King of Thailand when he is not in residence in the capital. We treated ourselves to a villa on the beach and needless to say we had a fantastic time.

Ian saw the ocean for the first time and thus the beach too. He seemed a little unsure of the sand but slowly became more accustomed to it. We also spent plenty of time in the pool, though Ian seemed to have more fun throwing (decorative) stones into the water than from getting into it as you'll see from some of our photo's. Mom and Dad got some time alone too, as the Resort had baby-sitters on hand to look after Ian at night. Sweet!

As you'll see from some of our photo's Ian got up to lots and posed on many an occasion for snaps to be taken. He was a real hit with the locals and gained several fans during his stay. We see Ian on the beach with a young man who took a shine to Ian's smile as they played 'hoop' together. The rest of the photo's speak for themselves, so enjoy.

We are back in Bangkok just in time for Halloween though clearly not as big an event as in the US. Still, Ian has a party to go to and hopefully we'll post some picys of his antics along with the other ex-pats kids he hangs out with.
